Today, the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC), American Families United (AFU), and Make the Road States welcomed the Biden-Harris Administration’s first step in fulfilling their commitment to 500,000 American mixed-status families through the release of the “Federal Register Notice” for the “Keep Families Together” Program. This initiative aims to grant work permits and legal status to undocumented spouses, stepchildren of U.S. citizens, and Dreamers.

Al Cardenas, CEO of VITAL Health and Co-Chairman of ABIC, emphasized the importance of this move for workforce stability, while Ashley DeAzevedo, President of AFU, urged for a generous implementation to prevent any families from being left behind. Theo Oshiro, co-Executive Director of Make the Road New York, highlighted the program’s potential to provide a just path to citizenship. This action follows ABIC’s year-long “Here to Work” campaign, which rallied nationwide support for sensible immigration solutions.
