Lynette Corbin of Stafford, a member of American Families United, traveled to Washington, D.C. on April 16-17 for a briefing on Capitol Hill, calling on the Biden administration to extend work permits to immigrants who are long-term members of American families and residents of U.S. communities. Lynette stated, ‘While being a stepmother has meaning for providing a pathway for my stepson, my role as a U.S. citizen spouse has no meaning for a pathway for my husband. My husband is on the verge of hopelessness and ironically, he said he feels like he is in prison, at times. I am asking President Biden to use his authority to grant work permits to undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens to provide hope for many families like mine.’
