Kristin Etter, Director of Policy and Legal Services at the Texas Immigration Law Council, and Oscar Silva, Dreamer and President of UNT Eagle Dreamers, shared their perspectives during a discussion moderated by Juan Carlos Cerda, Texas State Director of the American Business Immigration Coalition. The conversation focused on the “Here to Work” campaign, advocating for President Biden to expand parole and provide work permits to long-term immigrant contributors. The campaign aims to support over 277,000 undocumented Dreamers and 749,000 mixed-status families affected by Senate Bill 4, which threatens to separate U.S. citizens from their spouses and parents. Hosted by the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce, the summit underscored the crucial role of Latino immigrants in driving Texas’ economic prosperity.
